Long Board Collectors club meet, Huntington Beach. |
When my wife said 'what do you want for your birthday' I knew
exactly what to say. “I want to be the first guy at the Huntington Beach
Longboard collectors Club meet”. Ok she said, “what time do we have to leave
the house?”
“umm…about 4am”
That wasn’t going to happen so we headed up the night
before, checked into a hotel, drank a few birthday martinis and were all in bed
by 730pm!
What a great day. President Steve out did himself with the
organization and planning of a fantastic event that supported the vintage car
club.
The early bird does get the worm and scored a couple of nice
Californian shapes for the collection.
The streets of Huntington were deserted when I slipped out of bed and made my way over to the meet.
It was all happening by 5am
Come on bring out your gold!

It was nice to see this MR again. It had been to every meet for the past 3 years.
Head lights were used to set up the stalls.
The second Shawn Stussy shaped Russell that I let slip through my fingers.

I bought a '30 Ford wagon and we call it a woody
You know it's not very cherry, it's an oldie but a goody
Well, it ain't got a back seat or a rear window
But it still gets me where I wanna go
You see they never roll the streets up 'cause there's always somethin' goin'
You know they're either out surfin' or they got a party growin'
Well, with two swingin' honeys for every guy
And all you gotta do is just wink your eye
And if my woody breaks down on me somewhere on the surf route
I'll strap my board to my back and hitch a ride in my wetsuit
And when I get to Surf City I'll be shootin' the curl
And checkin' out the parties for a surfer girl
Then we loaded up the hire car with the haul and headed home.
