Simon Anderson's new book 'Thrust' is a fascinating read that documents the innovation period of surfboard design focused around the development of his thruster design (or 3 fin surfboard with fins of equal size).
A lot of the amazing historical content contained within is written down here for the first time and will require me to go through my old blog posts to look for subtle corrections that will need to be made.
My friend Aaron had Simon sign me a copy and he wrote an inscription "thanks for the increased board value" that points out the futility of this blog. If I really want to pick up cheap boards for my collection the last thing I should be doing is blogging about them and calling them collectible on the Internet.
But, to quote Norman Mac Ewan "Happiness is not so much in the having but the sharing. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give"
I love the title of this post..."There is no delight in owning anything unshared." That is the gospel. Happy 4th from Montauk Damo..
